Welcome to SLAYCATION
Let us be the first to welcome you to our beach home, lovingly dubbed SLAYCATION!
We’re Parker and Madelaine Slaybaugh, and owning a piece of this sandbar is a generational dream come true! The Outer Banks has long held a special place in our hearts. We both grew up vacationing here with our families, building memories that last a lifetime. Summers filled with toes in the sand, late-night card games, fishing trips, and the kind of laughter that echoes long after the week ends. Some of our most cherished childhood memories were made right here. It is our deepest hope that our home helps to create those same kinds of memories for your family — the ones that become part of your family’s story.
In many ways, our own story begins right here.
In June of 2012 — 18 months before our paths first crossed (or so we thought) — we were both vacationing on the Outer Banks with our families. Madelaine and her family were fishing at the Nags Head Fishing Pier when they paused for a family photo. At that exact moment, Parker was also fishing with his family at the pier and unknowingly photobombed Madelaine’s picture.
It wouldn’t be until December of 2013 that we would formally meet, when Parker — then a local TV news reporter — interviewed Madelaine for a story. We were got engaged in 2018 right here in Kitty Hawk. The rest, as they say, is history!
In May of 2025, we welcomed our daughter, Margaux (which in French means “pearl”). The beach that once shaped our childhoods is now shaping hers.
When we purchased this home in March of 2026, we aimed for it to be a place of gathering. A place to slow down. A place where families reconnect, friends celebrate, and everyday worries fade with the outgoing tides.
